Midwest SWANA Playwright Incubator Program
After a competitive application process, I was selected to be part of a cohort of seven Midwestern SWANA playwrights, who will meet for half a year to develop new plays! The program will culminate in a public showcase of new work, coming in Spring 2026.

Reading at New York's Kateri Peace Conference
I was invited to read original work at the annual Kateri Peace Conference in New York, a two-day Anti-War Conference for local activists and organizers.

Baba's X Mizna Lit Series
As a member of Mizna’s Writing Collective, I read poetry and creative nonfiction at this community reading hosted by Mizna’s and Baba’s Hummus.

Kate Kysar's Mega-Music Reading
I was invited to read poetry at this reading of works about music, organized by poet Kate Kysar. The event was a culmination of her MN State Arts Board Grant project.

Celebrate Indigenous Place: Reading with Head E. Erdrich
2024 Minneapolis Poet Laureate Held E. Erdrich selected me to be a part of a cohort of 20 local poets who developed work at sites of indigenous importance, and showcased our writing publicly at the Loft Literary Center.

Solidarity Reading for Palestine at Winona State University Theater
I was invited to read original work at this event organized by Theater Du Mississippi, The Cedar Tree Project, and the Winona State Theater and Women’s Studies Departments. I also participated in a reading of the play, “My Name is Rachel Corrie,” by Alan Rickman and Katherine Viner.

Grieving Gaza via Writing | Workshop with New Arab American Theater Works
I curated and facilitated this workshop as part of New Arab American Theater Works’ monthly SWANA Creative Workshops series. I guided participants through a series of exercises on diarizing our grief, and portraying it with nuance, complexity, and humanity.

Middle East Symposium at the University of Minnesota
I was invited to read original work at “Violence and Shifting Politics of Knowledge and Production in the Middle East,” a two-day symposium at the University of Minnesota, organized by Educators for Justice in Palestine and the University of Minnesota Middle East Studies Department.

Reviving Sisterhood's Muslim Women's Leadership Conference
I was invited to perform original work at the entertainment segment of the annual Muslim Women’s Leadership Conference in Minnesota, organized by Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood for Empowerment (RISE).

I was invited to read work at this fundraiser for Gazan relief, organized by Educators for Justice in Palestine, Baba’s Hummus, and Mizna.

Muslim and Jewish Poetry for Gaza at Minneapolis City Hall
I emceed and performed in this solidarity reading at Minneapolis City Hall, organized jointly by American Muslims for Palestine Minnesota and Jewish Voices for Peace Twin Cities.

Bearing Witness: Honoring Gaza's Martyrs
I was invited to read in this local solidarity gathering to honor Gaza’s martyrs. The event was organized by Mizna and Students for Justice in Palestine UMN.

The Gaza Monologues Reading
I performed in a community reading of “The Gaza Monologues,” organized by Art2Action, New Arab American Theater Works, Mizna, and Pangea World Theater. The reading was directed by Andrea Assaf.

SWANA and Muslim Playwright Showcase
I was one of eight national playwrights whose work was performed in this public showcase of new plays. My play, “Birthright Palestine,” was performed in this event (directed by Sherrine Azab)
The showcase was the culmination of New Arab American Theater Works’ Inaugural Playwright Incubator Program, during which, eight playwrights were selected to participate in a six-month cohort to develop new work.

Palestine Day MN
I performed spoken word poetry at the largest annual Palestine gathering in Minnesota. Additionally, I directed a performance by four commissioned poets, who read another original poem.
